What does my Non-Guided Package include?

  • Round trip airfare from our Cochenour water base to Cat Island Lodge
  • 85 lb. personal gear weight allowance
    Rustic cabins with modern amenities (mini fridge, full 3-piece bathroom)
  • All meals, including daily shore lunch or box lunch
  • High quality fishing gear (rods, reels, tackle) provided if needed
  • Depth finders, swivel padded seats, life jackets, minnow buckets, nets, paddles and anchor
  • Standard, deep hull, 16 ft. or 17 ft. Alumarine boat with either a 30 or 40 hp, 4-stroke Yamaha motor

    What's not included in my package?

    • Your Ontario fishing license
    • Beverages
    • Fishing rod/reel and fishing equipment (readily available at the Lodge, if needed)

    Are there methods of communication at the lodge?

    Wireless internet and cell service are somewhat limited to the Lodge and deck area, as that is where the booster reaches

    How much is a deposit?

    Deposits are $700 per person. Deposits are non-refundable and must be made by each group member in order to secure the reservation.

    Is there daily maid service?

    We do not offer daily maid service, unless requested

    Need a fishing license?

    Ontario Fishing and Hunting Licenses

    What are fish limits and regulations on Trout Lake?

    Walleye – Possession Limits – Opens 3rd Saturday in May

    • Sport License – 4 walleye possession limit
    • Conservation License – 2 walleye possession limit
    • Live release of all but one walleye over 18

    Northern Pike – Possession Limits – Open Year Round

    • Sport License – 4 pike possession limit
    • Conservation License – 2 pike possession limit
    • Live release of all northern pike over 27

    Lake Trout – Possession Limits – Open January 1 – September 30

    • Sport License – 2 lake trout possession limit
    • Conservation License – 1 lake trout possession limit
    • Live release of all but one lake trout over 25″ before September 1, and over 22″ after September 1

    Can I bring a fish home?

    Yes you can, but no trophies out

    Can I fish in the evening?

    Yes you can, as long as you are within sight of the Lodge. Fishing Guides are sometimes available in the evenings as well.

    How long is the flight from the Cochenour water base to Cat Island Lodge?

    15 – 20 minutes

    What else is there to do at the Lodge?

    We have canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boats available for use. There is TV, a pool table, and shuffleboard table in the Games Room. There are walking trails. You can use the pavilion for a BBQ or have a bonfire

    Is live bait available for purchase at the Lodge?

    Yes, we have live minnows, as well as night crawlers and frozen minnows
