Outpost Black Bear Hunts:
Spring Hunt Dates: May 20th – June 15th
Fall Hunt Dates: August 15th – October 1st
Our Non-Guided Outpost Black Bear Hunts are offered at two of our outpost cabin locations: Sumach Lake and Brownstone Lake. We have exclusive bear hunting rights on these lakes, so they’re prime locations for great hunts.
Our hunt locations are equipped with large permanent stands accessible by boat only. We pre-bait ahead of your arrival to ensure the best possible success for your hunt. Once you arrive, you are provided with enough bait for use for the duration of your hunt.
When you shoot a bear, the cleaning and skinning is up to you. We have room at our Cochenour base to cold store your meat and hide until you depart. Bring your fishing rod as there is excellent fishing on these lakes. Fishing rates are shown on the outpost pages, should there be anglers in your party.

NOTES:
- Minimum party of 4 with any combination of hunters and anglers
- Hunters in the party pay hunt rate
- Anglers in the party pay just fishing package rate
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT
- Departures from the Cochenour water base to hunt locations are scheduled in the morning – weather dependent
- All package rates are in USD and are subject to 13% HST tax
- A $750 deposit per person is required at the time of booking, in order to secure your reservation
- Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another hunting trip during the same season
- Cash or check are accepted forms of payment; credit cards are not accepted for the final payment. Please make checks and money orders payable to Excellent Adventures
- Save 5% off your rate if the entire hunt is paid for within 30 days of booking
- The cost of $240.81 (CAD) for the Black Bear License is not included. It is to be purchased through the MNRF
